YEAR 9 & 10 NSW BOARD OF STUDIES 

Indie School Albury is registered to deliver the NSW Board of Studies curriculum.

The school does this in an alternative manner for Year 9 and 10 students with a focus on engaging students in community projects as with the VCAL students.

 

The core subjects taught are:

  • English

  • Mathematics

  • Science

  • Geography

  • History and

  • Personal Development Health & Physical Education

 

Year 10 students who are 16 years of age or over are also encouraged to commence a Vocational Education and Training Certificate (VET) at Year 10. This assists them to gain credits for their VCAL studies in the following year.

The Albury school currently has students supporting:

  • Yes Youth & Family Services

  • Youth Albury Wodonga

 

COMMUNITY BASED VCAL COURSE 

The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) Year 11 and 12 is an alternative program to the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or NSW Higher School Certificate with hands on options for students who do not want to pursue university options. VCAL gives the students practical work related experience, employment options and/or further study options at Learn Locals, TAFE or on the job, with a strong focus on working within the community.

 

VCAL studies include:

  • Literacy

  • Numeracy

  • Personal Development

  • Work Related Studies
     

Students are also required to complete a VET Certificate with a registered RTO provider. We are able to assist in the range of certificate options for students in meeting these requirements.
