December 2020

Indie School Wagga Wagga

Message from the Head of School
Thursday December 17, 2020

Dear parents, guardians and students,

Wow, 2020, what a wild ride it has been. This year has seen many challenges thrown our way, and I’m sure I speak for everyone in saying that I’m really looking forward to starting fresh next year.

One of the biggest trials for 2020 was COVID 19, which proved a challenge in more ways than one. Our students moved to remote learning, engaging in schooling via distance. All staff and students faced remote learning head on and succeeded beyond what I could have expected.

2020 has also been extremely successful. We have seen an explosion of enrolments further proving how the Indie model works and the great need for alternative education in Wagga. We have grown considerably since the start of this year with the need to relocate to a larger premise to accommodate our growing school. With this growth we have moved our junior campus to Kincaid Street and senior campus to Fitzmaurice Street.

We have also had the pleasure of welcoming 4 new teaching staff, 3 student support officers and a welfare officer to our team so we can continue to provide an education for all the students who come our way.

Thank you to the parents, carers, friends and family who have provided support to us and our students throughout the year. I would also like to thank the entire Wagga team for a successful and rewarding second year of the Wagga Wagga Campus.

I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy festive season and I look forward to seeing what 2021 will bring our way.

Graduation 2020

On the 9th of December we celebrated the achievements of all our students at the Wagga Wagga RSL.

Twenty-Five Year 9 and Forty-Nine Year 10 students graduated 2020 with the Wagga Campus.

It was great to see the students awarded for their hard work this year and celebrating their success with the Indie School.

Due to COVID restrictions, the number of guests each student could bring was restricted, however the support shown by parents, friends, carers and family was a positive bonus and everyone enjoyed the day.
